Guidelines NHS Dental Health

We provide NHS dentistry subject to capacity and available funding from NHS (Units of Dental Activity).  All necessary treatment is available on the NHS. This means all treatment that is necessary to protect and maintain the health of your mouth, teeth and gums is available on NHS. Treatment that is purely cosmetic is available privately. Ask your dentist how much this will cost.

We take on a few NHS patients every month from our waiting list. If you would like to join the Practice please contact reception to add your name to the list.

When you first visit our practice, we will check your teeth and mouth; measurements of gum health will be made and your mouth will be screened for oral cancer and, if necessary, take x-rays. We will also take a detailed medical & dental history.

After listening to your concerns and discussing treatment options we will create a personal treatment plan based on the information from this visit. At your next visit we will clarify any questions you may have about the treatment plan and its outcomes before starting your treatment.

To register with our practice please call the surgery during practice hours. Allow a little extra time when attending for your first appointment to fill out a medical history form and to sign an NHS consent form.  If you claim a relevant benefit that entitles you to free dental care you will be required to bring proof of the benefit at your first appointment.  This also applies if your circumstances have changed since your last appointment and you are now eligible or no longer eligible for free dental care.

As a new patient you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the reception team and if you have any questions regarding the servcies you will receive please do not hesitate to ask a member of the team.  We strive to ensure you have a positive experience here at the Lance Robson Dental Practice.
